1.  Description

The Institute of Physics provides guidelines and LaTeX-styles (primarily – the iopart class) for articles submitted to its journals.

2.  Installation

  1. Download one of the two archive files (zip or tar.gz) from https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/questions/latex-template/
  2. Assuming that you are using MiKTeX, create a subfolder named iopart in MiKTeX's latex package folder, e.g.
    C:\Program Files\MiKTeX\tex\latex\iopart
and extract the archive file there. If you don't have Admin privileges, create the folder in
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\MiKTeX\2.9\tex\latex\iopart.
  3. To make the new files visible for MiKTeX, use the Start menu Programs->MiKTeX->Maintanance (Admin)->Settings (Admin) and press there "Refresh FNDB".
  4. In LyX use the menu Tools->Reconfigure, and then restart LyX.

3.  Template

LyX includes the template file IOP-article.lyx.
